I 'm deciding between UMass Amherst and UCSB , Major in physics. As I 'm international, the biggest question is how is the best graduation in Physics, easy enrollment in classes, relationship between teachers and students and where are offered more opportunities for research . Any information will be valuable to help in my decision. Thanks to everyone.

Hi! I’m not an expert in the Physics department but as an MA resident, I wouldn’t advise going to umass amherst if you’re loling for research opportunities or schol year internships. Amherst is very isolated and not that close to any major cities. I’m sure there is on campus opportunities, but nothing that would beat UCSB! Umass amherst is also known as the party state school for MA… You don’t have to be a part of it, but it is always there.
From what I’ve hear the Physics department at UCSB is very good.
@seoulbound - Yes, I agree that UCSB would probably be the better choice. This being said, UMass Amherst is a great school and their engineering program is eccentric. Also, the school has improved vastly in the past ten years so I can’t agree on Seoul about the party aspect since this is very common at many large state schools and UMass has been much tamer in the past few years. (Some UC’s are an exception)
