I am trying to decide between the two universities, and I am having a very difficult time doing so. I am a transfer student entering my sophmore year, and I plan on entering into Greek life, playing club sports, and majoring in economics and minoring in political science. School pride is extremely important to me, and the community and feeling of the place is as well.
It's probably important to note that I am from massachusetts as clemson is a southern school.

I think that UMCP will give you a better education. Do you want to be 40 minutes away from a large city, or do you want to live in a small town surrounded by rural areas? I live in an area with a lot of Clemson grads—it’s a great school, but to compare the two, I’d choose MD.

I chuckled when I read your post because you put greek life and intramural sports ahead of your major and minor. Think about it this way…where do you want to live, what do you want to study and how much else do you want to do, and rank order those things for both schools. On the where you want to live, Clemson is a loooooooonnnnnnnngggg way from Mass, and hot. At UMCP you also have the advantage of being in a great place to take advantage of seat-of-government internships/opportunities in your field of study.
