@gunnerforlife I don’t believe there are any spring semester scholarships. They only award scholarships at the time they announce all financial aid, once a year.
I’m about to take the last section of the math placement test, so far, I think I did poorly. I used the practice test they offer but a lot of the questions feel harder and there seems to be more trig in the real thing. Its been so long since I’ve done any of these types of problems. If you don’t place for calc 140, does anyone know what you place in ? I was fine with any of the basic math questions n algebra. but I doubt I did well enough to be place in calc.
Yeah. The final section has tons of trig and pre-calc, and unless it was fresh in your mind, you may have not placed, but don’t fret too much about it. What is your intended major? I believe the next level down will place you in several options including 115, and then the next step would be one of the calcs.
@LuxSemper it depends on how well you did on each section. Each section is meant to show your math strength, if you werent able to do well on the last two sections then you could be placed anywhere ranging from Math 003 ,110 which are developmental classes. And its 2 semesters added to your plan.
I suggest , now that you’ve seen the questions, you have a good idea… No worries if you didnt do well the first time, you can take it the second time, but this time spend time on trig and pre-calc. Trig especially. …
I took it the first time to see what it looked like, and then took it the second time and I didnt even get one wrong, not bragging its easy and most questions repeat hint
Let me know if you choose to take it the second time so I can paste the email, where you request for another try. (Saves you 2 semesters)

Hey all, is it possible to defer my enrollment to spring 2016?
Hey, has anyone applied after the priority deadline as a transfer? I had to in order to submit my spring grades at my previous university. My GPA is a 3.2 but a 3.7 for the spring semester. I am banking on being admitted so heavily, it is my only option. Is anyone waiting to be admitted too? It would be great to know some people are in the same boat
@umdhopeful111 what university you came from and how many semester’s did you do
I applied after the priority deadline as a transfer student from a Maryland CC. I couldnt have applied for priority because I needed to take two classes in order to complete my math credits during the summer and my CC did not have the summer classes posted until mid April (so I wouldnt have been able to send transcripts showing that the credits were in progress before the March 1 deadline). I too am banking on getting into UMD with a 3.6 GPA and as an MTAP student (even through guaranteed admission only applies with priority applicants only -_-). You’re not alone; best of luck!
@transfchick95 the decisions come out today around 445! Best of luck!!
Late in the game–but does anyone know if there is a UMD Fall 2015 Transfers Facebook group?
@JCW77 not that I know of but someone should make one!
I feel like everyone has gotten the housing link but I don’t see it… I’m stressing
