Hello,
I got admission into JHU Data science graduate program and I’m waiting on my
UMD application result in Computer Science (data science track) graduate program.
If I get admitted to UMD, which one I should go with? Which one has a better program in this field? Considering the tuition in JHU is twice as the tuition in UMD, is it worth getting a higher loan for going to JHU?
Thank you!
Edit:
Dept Education website has post graduation data for gainful employment for each certificates, not masters, sorry.
Inquire further with JHU alum or dept. about career prospects.
Think about how would you pay for JHU?
Some JHU grad programs target working adults, perhaps employer is helping pay?

The website shows undergraduate or certificate info, not grad school. Sorry.
What research have you done on these programs regarding employment outcomes, classes, how long they have been conducting these programs for etc?
From there you should be able to see what qualities you value more and which one meets your need the most.
UMD has one of the top CS programs in the country, and Data Science is a very new field that is evolving. I would say that schools that are very strong in CS usually will be very good in Data Science as well. Go with UMD, especially if you are in-state, pretty much a no-brainer.
I agree with ProfessorPlum. Maryland is very well regarded in computer science and has one of the top programs. Data science is very tightly connected to CS, so going to a school that’s strong in CS is a good bet. Especially with the price being much cheaper, it makes more sense to choose there if you get admitted.
