Hi, I got into freshman connection program at umd and the Rutgers honors college. I am instate as a umd student and would Be out of state as a Rutgers student. I’m not really worried about money but I’m having a hard choice as to what college to commit to. I would be a chemical engineer major or Bio major (premed tRack for either major)
Can anyone help me with pros and cons
Have you visited? Not that familiar with UMD but I know a common complaint about Rutgers is the bussing system. Lots of kids hate it. Lots of kids don’t mind it. It’s a great school but definitely less of a traditional campus feel.
I am planning on visiting next month!
- Net Cost
- Do you have to apply to get into the engineering program?
- For pre-med, how close are hospitals for volunteering?
- Rutgers: If you go pre-med, you can lived in a health/medicine learning community where you live and take premed classes. http://ruoncampus.rutgers.edu/rulc/health/
- Definitely at Rutgers take the tour so you understand all the campuses.
- Rutgers would be a little but more expensive by 2-3 thousand but other than that it would all be pretty much around the same price
- at Umd, I do have to apply to get into the engineering program and there’s a chance they could reject me but from what I’ve heard they usually accept
- Rutgers has many hospitals near it umd I don’t think as any close (will have to check on that)
Thanks!!
