UMich: Do music students play in Musical Theatre Productions?

<p>This seems obvious to me, but..... </p>

<p>Do any of you have 1st hand knowledge if the School of Theatre use SOM musicians (undergraduate? graduate?) in their own musical theatre productions???? </p>

<p>Are instrumental students assigned to play in a pit or is it by audition?</p>

<p>PS: Same question for the Opera program or ballet... are SOM musicians used for these productions?</p>

<p>Yes, instrumental majors do play in opera. Don’t know about Musical theatre. But once D was paid to play in a theatre production. Not sure what it was.</p>
