I’m currently a freshman at MSU but I am applying to transfer to umich and I am torn. At MSU I have done well academically (I got a 4.0 easily and am in the top 5% of my class). I do enjoy the perks of the honors college and have been invited to apply to a elite service society next year which could be beneficial (assuming I am selected to join), but I have not been enjoying the social aspect here and hate the campus. I have more friends at Umich and love the campus, but I am not sure how difficult the classes would be there. I plan on going to PA or med school, so that’s another factor. Which would be better for PA school/med school…being a standout student at MSU honors college or being a average student at Umich?
Personally, I think that UMich simply caries more weight. The average salary is about $10000 more and I am sure that this will be true for med school. On top of that you already like UMich a lot more. Just give it a shot. You can always decline.
@Vincent1997 Your undergrad does not determine how much you earn as a PA/Doctor.
With that being said, there is no objectively “better” undergraduate institution you could attend for PA/Medical School. Prestige is not a factor in medical school admission.
That being said, you can always apply, but I strongly encourage you to stay at MSU. You’re doing fantastic, and some great opportunities will be available to you if you keep that 4.0.
