To anyone who has attended or currently attends University of Michigan, what are some of the aspects of the school that you love most, especially core values that drew you in? I would love to attend the school, and I’m intrigued by the university’s emphasis on global solutions for poverty and sustainability, but I’m looking for first-hand experience about how big of a role those actually play in campus life, besides what it just says on the website. I’m also interested in studying Psychology there, so any first-hand information about the value of the programs would be very helpful.

There is definitely a lot of great work going on by faculty, staff, and students in this regard. However, to say it dominates campus culture, or is very pervasive, would be hyperbole - and I would bet money that this would be the case at any medium sized school or higher.
