So, I read earlier on some other thread that UNC doesn't really care for people who graduate early from high school(at least I think that's what they meant), anyhow, I was just wondering if anyone can actually confirm whether Carolina cares whether you graduate early from high school or not.

Haha;the title looks funny not capitalized! I thought I did all caps, oh well! :)

They just want to make sure that you’re doing something meaningful and worthwhile in your time off…and make sure you tell them about what you did during that time, what you learned and how it affected you.

I see your OOS so the question is - are you a very top student with the Grades and SAT (and SAT II scores) to prove it ? - if so than why wouldn’t any school want you.

If however you are average in any way than your unlikely to get into UNC-CH OOS and graduating early will be one more strike against you, and you only get one strike.

If your semi normal than you should choose a “realistic school” or stay in HS and excel in something special. Don’t rush to be average, take your time and be outstanding.

I’m not taking time off from school, though. I’m just applying as a junior, and graduating at the end of this year, as opposed to next. I just want to make sure that this won’t be frown upon by the schools I’m applying to.

I’m not OOS, I live in NC. I’m just out of things to do in high school, pretty much.

Staying for your final year in high school is probably a good idea. You can take the extra time to help prepare, retake any admissions tests, and make your essays as good as possible. Plus your senior year is the best year of high school, trust me.
