UNC Class of 2020 EA Accepted Discussion

@gracie21 Not at all. A lot of the merit scholarships are for OOS and I’m confident there are plenty of OOS in the honors program. I don’t know the numbers off the top of my head however.

@alfred500 Thanks! I’m really considering UNC and admissions into the honors college would really tip the scale over Michigan.

Hey, I got into Excel@Carolina today, does anyone know what this means? Im OOS by the way

Does anyone know when we need to submit our midyear grades by?

Have you guys received the admission letter via mail yet?

Last year they got it a week into February @nicmart

In State and D is still waiting for honors invite. Do you think they have sent all the invitations out?
@Hcramer20 look at this link: http://admissions.unc.edu/explore/enrich-your-education/excelcarolina/

@CTigerMom My twins got the excel email later yesterday afternoon at 4pm eastern. I suspect they may be still trickling out.

As far the ExploreCarolina days - how valuable/interesting would this be for a student that’s done the standard on-campus tour and is pretty sure (probably 99%) she wants to attend?

My daughter can only miss a day or two of class and still be exempt from finals. At least one of days will be for a concert, which is probably a better use of a day to play hooky.

Insight from someone that has attended these in the past would be appreciated…

I got excel email last night as well! Very very excited , I’m visiting the campus again on Feb 15

Has anyone received a letter of admission in the mail or know if they will be mailing out acceptances this year?

I called the admissions office yesterday and was told that all emails for Excel@Carolina had gone out. If you didn’t receive the email then you haven’t been invited to participate.

I’m currently a senior in high school and I wanted to ask regarding what to expect. I was chosen as a finalist for the Chancellor’s Science Scholars Program at UNC-CH and am going to a “Selection Weekend” in the beginning of March in which they will decide who will get in. My question is: What should I expect during this Selection Weekend? How will I prepare? If anyone on is currently in the program, it would be much appreciated if they would give me some insight as to how I should prepare. The link regarding the program can be found here: http://chancellorssciencescholars.web.unc.edu/scholar-experience/

Does anyone know if admitted EA students have to submit midyear grades? My deferred friend said she had to and it was also under her To-Do tab, but I haven’t received an email about it and it isn’t in my To-Do list.

Hello everyone! Congrats to those who were accepted to UNC-CH. For those of you who received the Excel@Carolina invitation, do ya’ll know what the chances are for being awarded your top choice? Also (I hate to sound arrogant), but does anyone know the statistical selectivity of this program? I was curious because I wanted to know where I stand for some other schools that applied to. Congrats again, y’all.

@Ivyhopeful9809 I was looking around on the “FAQs for Admitted Students” page from 2014 (http://admissions.unc.edu/admissions-blog/2014/01/31/faqs-for-admitted-students/) and down in the comments I found this:

@jasishere Awesome! Thank you for sharing.

For those of you who are filling out the Excel survey: how do you feel about the honors college vs. research? I can’t really decide between the two

Does anyone know if there’s a UNC Chapel Hill Class of 2020 Groupme?

yea there is a unc 2020 group me, do you still want to be invited? @52balletvieta
