I do not know about Excel emails, but I do know that my DS received his email for scholarship just after noon today. I would suspect that Excel emails will be following shortly over the next few days.
What is decision day because I received an email saying I was invited. Is it important?

Received invite to Chancellors Science Scholars Selection Weekend. Nothing from Financial Aid, though…
It was for one of the merit based scholarships. The email indicated College Fellows Scholarship. He has also received an email regarding Chancellor’s Science Scholars, so it looks like emails are starting to go out.
if I was deferred (for early action), is there a way that the admissions office can tell me like where I am on the “waiting list” or does UNC not do that?

DD was invited to Admitted Student Day, guess that means she’s not being considered for any scholarship? Does anyone know if Carolina Research Scholar requires interview? She is hoping to qualify for it and would like to know if that is still a possibility. Does anyone know from past experience or otherwise?
Does anybody know how many they interview for Chancellors Science Scholars, and how many they admit?
DD was invited to Admitted Student Day and Decision Day, no mention of any scholarships.
Has anyone received anything on Euro program or MacDonald? What is Decision Day? I received an emal for Admitted Student day but not Decision Day…
DD got emails for Admitted Student Day, Decision Day, and Dia de Bienvenida. No Excel or Scholarships so looks like we’ll be in southern cal that week visiting

It seems some folks are jumping to conclusions prematurely here. From the UNC Admissions blog it appears that ALL admitted students were invited to Admitted Students Day. That invitation does not preclude an invitation to anything related to other programs or scholarships. Some of those other emails seem to have started coming out, but not all by any means. Keep in mind that the Admissions Office does not necessarily do selections for the other programs. They send out the Admitted Students invites, but not necessarily the others. Also Decision Day is a special Admitted Students program run by the office of diversity and multicultural affairs, I believe. If you didn’t identify as being in a group they support, you’re not likely to be invited.
I called UNC and was told that Excel Carolina notifications will be going out sometime this week through next week.
EDIT: The lady I spoke to also indicated that they have not started sending them out yet.
If we didn’t get a merit scholarship email today is it safe to assume we will not be recieving any merit money?
