I’m a junior this year, and I saw a comment that said that it’d be harder to get into chapel hill this year, assuming they win the championship tomorrow. I did some research to see if it’s true, and it actually is. Here is the study on it:

I hope it’s not too drastic. I’m guessing the Out of State pool will become significantly harder, but the In State pool will stay relatively the same since students from NC probably have had UNC on their minds already.
Thoughts?
Work on getting those test scores and grades up!
I guess that your problem just got solved.
Applications went up by 12% this year. I think they will go up again despite last night…
@GrantC46 I’m also applying next year and am very interested in these kinds of studies with sports. It didn’t matter that they lost last night. Michigan State will have a continuous increase in applicants and become slightly more competitive because they had a great regular season in football+basketball, their bad postseason finishes in both won’t hurt that much. I think because students realize how good the teams are and how popular and fun the games are matters most. Students care about seeing a #1 ranked Tar Heel team at the Dean Dome in a cupcake game that’s still sold out, because it’s not like a lot of students actually made the trip to Houston, and March Madness is during spring break. Sure it would have been fun to rush Franklin last night for them, but a great regular season, with top recruits, popular games against good teams is more important. UT Austin is my top choice and I’m a big Texas sports fan; it’s not like the applicant pool fluctuates because we sucked at football next year, applicants are going to increase anyways because of the obvious other reasons.
