Omg congrats!! UMich’s OOS acceptance is 24.5% while UNC is 19%. I think UNC is generally harder to get into

@Mcunn226, its the same with us in Union County.
So what about the school you go to? I go to a fairly new school in Mecklenburg county - we graduated our first class of seniors last year. We’re an online public school. Are they interested in taking students from schools that may not have as many students applying or something along those lines?
@SlimJim005 yeah he’s told me that he’s trying his best with influencing AO’s. Praying he gives me a nice boost, would love to play sports at UNC.
I hate to even imagine this, but I looked at last year and UNC tweeted multiple times pretty much every day for the 5 days leading up to the decisions, stating that they were going to be released soon. This year, they haven’t even tweeted once about EA decisions. Is there a chance they could be released later due to the deadline extension? I really hope not, just thinking.
dang i hope that doesn’t happen ^^
does anybody know if financial aid packages are being sent with acceptances? thanks!
If you submitted your financial aid info around the time you submitted your application, then financial aid packages should come out within the following week of acceptance.
Are there any hints that you got accepted? I did EA and got a financial aid email back in December and a holiday card. I’m pretty sure those get sent to everyone but I’ve heard of other schools signaling that as being accepted?
@stuckinthefuture Omg that would be awful. I just want to know already!! I looked on Reddit and saw a few conflicting theories; maybe it comes out the last Friday of January, but then I saw that another person said that admissions said it comes out on Monday(though I have not found confirmation of either)
@highkeystressed3 I am considering just calling admissions and asking, they may not give a clear answer. Will update you all if I decide to though.
update guys, bad news. I just spoke with an admissions representative over the phone and he said that decisions will be released on the week of the 28th, he seemed pretty clear that it would not be before that. He said to just login to your portal periodically on the week of the 28th, and made no indication that decisions would be released this Friday.
Hey, you know what? It’s all about expectation management.
Knowing today it’s not going to be until next week is MUCH better than waiting on 25 Jan at 12pm or 3pm (whatever time results are normally released) for something that won’t show up.
Everyone can relax the rest of the week and wait (patiently, hopefully) until next week sometime.
Well I agree with that for sure. Just wish he had said that it was Jan 25 at 4 PM lol. I know what you mean though, taking this information into context we are all in a good spot, no need to frantically reload pages at 4 PM Friday when decisions don’t show up.
@stuckinthefuture Aww that’s annoying! We’ve been waiting for so long!! Thank you for checking though. I really appreciate it
Yeah no problem, still hope the guy was wrong/plans change though. I probably won’t be checking the portal until Tuesday now ;-;. Still a full week ahead of us.
@benbiedenbach I see that you asked when you’d get info regarding financial aid. I know that some people received their FA info pretty quickly, but it took quite a long time for us to receive ours last year. It was March before we had any hard numbers.
I called too this afternoon. It’s next week.
anyone know if letters or portals will be sent out first?
