Just for clarity, USC is University of Southern California.
I was wondering what would be better for premed at either institution if cost was not a factor? (both schools gave very generous financial aid and basically everything is equal in terms of being covered).
Only good thing I see is the location and the fact that USC may be smaller since it is a private school which is good for classes.
Other than that, which school would be better for opportunities, premed environment, prestige, or anything else that will give the slightest bump for med school since they both are very good schools.
Thanks
Both are fine if cost is not an issue.
Select the school where you will be more comfortable if you decide to pursue a path other than as a pre-medical school student.
Both schools are very good. Choose the one you like better.
Acceptance to medical school will be based on you…not whether you attend USC or UNC.
Both are excellent schools but very different. USC is a big expensive private school and UNC is a big public school. Both have excellent programs in medicine, but I would give the edge to UNC. Better research catered towards healthcare, tremendous hospital system and prestigious programs in medicine, dental, pharmacy and nursing. In the end it’ll come down to scores but both are brand names that will get you there.
