I was accepted as an undeclared (Muir).

Now i’ve decided that i want to do engineering (AS or S)

What do I have to do now?

Now i’ve decided that i want to do engineering (AS or S)

What do I have to do now?

same here~

Undeclared-Warren

Now want to major in Chemical Engineering.

A lot of it depends on which engineering major you want to declare for.
Open engineering majors can be declared for easily. aerospace engineering, chemical engineering, engineering science, engineering sciences, environmental engineering, mechanical engineering, and structural engineering

If it is an impacted major, you have a tough (to put it lightly) road ahead of you. Bioengineering doesn't even allow students to declare for unless your pre-major is Bioengineering-Premedical (In that case you would have to apply for admission during spring) IF you don't get in...most likely you would have to apply for an open engineering major. If you wanted to go for Bioeng..your only chance would be to apply as a transfer from a CC...(4.0GPA to maximize your chances)

If you are serious about majoring in an impacted major at UCSD...it might even be easier to just go to a community college...follow the course load of a impacted engineering major extremely closely...get a HIGH gpa and than reapply. UCSD makes very few exceptions to exceptional students for those who come in undeclared and want to declare to an impacted engineering major. (You would likely need a 3.5 GPA minimum and than from there it would be decided by space available so higher your gpa is above 3.5 the better your chances would be)

The best thing to do though would be to make an appointment to speak with the departmental undergraduate adviser...he could give your a more realistic answer...because truth is every student is different. If your a 4.0 hs gpa, 1500+sat kid...he would tell you, that you might have a great chance to apply for an impacted major. If your barely made it to UCSD with the tip of your nose...he might warn you about the dificulty of applying for an impacted major.

since you two wanted to major in aerospace and chemical engineering. you have nothing to worry about. just make an appointment with an advisor...take the right classes...pass them and your in.

merci beacoup!
