hey, i was wondering if there is a recommended or preferred undergrad major for someone interested in getting a Master in Public Health. i'm a freshman in college and i'm really confused on what to major in/what i want to do with my life. but one of the fields i'm considering is public health. so any info would be great help. thanks!

anyone????

it shouldn't matter too much, if at all, what you study in undergrad for admission to a MPH program.

for your undergrad, just take a variety of courses and see what genuinely interests you. the advice sounds very typical, but it worked for me. i'm going to be a 3rd year, and i decided to major in molecular/cell biology after taking a intro to molecular bio course. i thought it was a really awesome class, so i got a job and a lab. i love working there and doing research. it basically helped me make the decision to go to grad school.

hope that helps.

so can i major in english and history, while taking bio/science classes, and still apply for a MPH program?

the requirements are very loose:

that's UCLA's program, but i'm sure others are very similar.
