Undergrad/Grad admissions

Just wondering what are the main differences between Undergraduate and Graduate admissions and what are the different focuses that they have. I know they both consider GPA and Standardized Testing (LSAT, MCAT, etc.), but aside from that I don't know too much.

P.S. I tried searching/googling for a similar thread but I couldn't find any so don't bash me!

It's generally more competitive, and the prestige of the school matters more. That's all I know.

for grad schools, the name of the undergrade school matters more and admissions is heavily based on gpa and test scores

Grad schools are not particularly interested in your ECs. However, many areas really like to see independent research in the area that you wish to study. This is not so true for Masters programs but mostly for PhD programs.

Graduate school (masters, PhD) is different from professional school (law, medical, veterinary).

Professional schools tend to care strongly about GPA and test scores. Graduate schools tend to care more about your research experience or other experience in your field and about the letters of recommendation you get from professors.

Professional schools sometimes care about your extracurriculars (for example, medical schools like it when students job-shadow physicians), but graduate schools are completely uninterested in extracurriculars -- many don't even have space on the application to list them.
