Hello,
I am currently an international undergraduate student who may be having a lot of regrets and worries. I have only just started my autumn quarter and already thinking of transferring (did not apply because of my school’s incompetent staff). I really am invested in architecture (and art in general) but I do not feel like I’m cut for it. I was #1/70 at my high school but that’s basically the only thing that I have going for me. I never took any art classes or have anything I could even think to include in a portfolio, so I worry if it is too late to even consider Cornell (or architecture as a major). I am only wondering if it is somehow possible to prepare something like a portfolio with at most 1.5 years or if it is too late.
Your post confuses me.
If you’ve never taken any art classes (or, I assume, architecture classes either) how do you know you’re really “invested” in architecture?
Are there no art or architecture-related classes at your current school? Seems that would be your first move in establishing “a portfolio.”
Can you afford $70,000 per year – for FIVE years (Cornell’s is a five year program)?
And what do you mean by “wondering if it is somehow possible to prepare something like a portfolio with at most 1.5 years” – what 1.5 years are you referring to?
