The Computing Research Association (CRA) sponsors an award program to recognize outstanding undergraduate research in Computer Science.
I have created a ranking of undergraduate Computer Science programs based on the number of undergraduate research awards won by students over the last 5 years.
I have included the: absolute number of awards, weighted value (which factors in the 4 levels of the award by awarding 4 points for the highest award and 1 point for the lowest award), a percentage value (which divides the number of awards by the number of Comptuer Science/Infomation and Computational Math graduates),
I ranked based on absolute number of awards using the weighted value as a tie breaker, but one could argue that either the weighted or percentage value is more appropriate, so I included those as well.
I also included the USNews Computer Science Graduate School Rank (which is determined by a simple poll) in the last column, for comparison. It is interesting that the only USNews top 5 ranked grad school to make the top 10 is Berkeley.
