<p>It looks like son 2 will make a college change as his top choice came in with an unexpected 5K grant and a Perkins loan today and is now affordable. Am I reading this right that a Perkins has a lower interest rate and is a better deal over a Stafford?</p>
<p>What is a Federal Ford direct loan - Subsidized? that is a new one to me. I will be calling the financial aid office on Monday.</p>
