Hi everyone, I am currently attending a private accredited online high school. I have 4.0 UW gpa, 4.17 weighted. By the time I graduate I will have completed 6 AP classes (hopefully with all As). I am pretty confident with the academic portion of my future college apps, but not so much the EC portion. Being homeschooled, there aren’t many school based ECs. I really enjoy writing, nutrition, health, and the medical field. I definitely want to have a career in the medical field. What ECs or contests could I participate in with consideration of my interests? (I am a rising junior) Thanks!
Participate in activities you enjoy, not what you think colleges want to see. I have graduated 5 kids from our homeschool and all of them are very different with very different activities.
My dd who graduated this yr listed translated a fairy tale as an EC. She didn’t do it for apps. She did it bc she loves fairy tales and foreign languages.
When she was asked in a group interview what her favorite thing to do outside of schoolwork, the other kids responded with answers like drama or sports. She said, “Curl up with a good book with a cup of tea or walk by the bay at sunset.” Her respo we was not leadership calculated. 
It was authentic. 
Fwiw, she was awarded their top scholarship.
If you know you want the medical field, see if you can shadow a dr. Volunteer at a hospital or clinic. Do what is authentically you and don’t worry about what you think colleges want to see.
