PBS aired the first part of Vikings Unearthed this evening. It’s a fascinating special about uncovering Viking settlements and expansion. University of Alabama archaeology professor Sarah Parcak’s method of finding Viking villages using satellite imagery is profiled extensively, with a brief look at her lab at UA. Worth a look for anyone interested in UA archaeology.
