Is it a good school?

[Soka University of America Is a School On a Hill - Page 1 - News - Orange County - OC Weekly](http://www.ocweekly.com/2011-03-10/news/soka-university-of-america-aliso-viejo-gakkai/)

It’s something of a mystery.

I live in CA, and not so far from there and I have never heard of it. That may not mean much because there are many colleges I’ve never heard of, but I am generally familiar with a great many, especially those in my state.

I can’t find any evidence that this university is accredited in the U.S. From the limited information on the terrible website, it looks very dubious.

Why is this on your radar?

X posted with musicamusica, I though the OP was talking about University of America located in Murietta, CA. At least Soka is WASC accredited.

I’m pretty familiar with Soka University (used to live within walking distance of the school) which actually does have a decent reputation in Aliso Viejo, largely thanks to its community outreach. However, the OP’s not talking about Soka, he’s referring to this “university”:

From what I can gather from the hideous website it’s not regionally accreditted (very important in the US) and seems to be just another generic for profit.

Just wondering because I can’t find anything about it on the Internet
