So for your mental and financial health, go to UCSC. But UMich IMO is superior in nearly every way, but for the cost, weather and beach.

Agree with all of these points. Ann Arbor is the quintessential college town, but debt is debt. And CS is in such demand, jobs are plentiful. (at least they were, preCOVID) If you are a good worker, you can move up fast.
