I'm looking at applying to University of California schools (Berkley, San Diego, etc)

Which ones are reaches and safeties?

Thanks for helping out.

Berkeley-Match
LA-Match
SD-Match/In
Davis/Irvine/SB/SC/R/M-In

So the last few are your safeties. The rest are all fair game. Your GPA is great. They’ll overlook the SAT score, especially if you can raise it a bit, due to your EC’s and you should be fine. Your school is really competitive. I’m guessing NC is northern california and not north carolina, though. If so, then that changes things a lot.

Berkeley-Low Reach
UCLA-Low Reach
UCSD-Low Reach/High Match
Irvine/Davis/UCSB-Match
UCR/UCM-Safety

I don’t think you should consider Berkeley and UCLA, and maybe not even UCSD, a match or close, without final SAT’s or ACT’s . Also, keep in mind GPA’s are not easily UC weighted out of state. Only AP’s will be weighted… Doesn’t mean don’t try. UCD disappointed a LOT of folks this year and last. I’m sure I’m eating sour grapes, but my daughter ( she’s African American, which I think means NOTHING at UC, unless perhaps you are also first gen), did not get into UCLA with a 4.0 plus UC GPA, and a 2000 plus SAT.

Here’s UCLA’s admission profile. OOS is not that different from in state. Cal is quite similar, and both allow for “holistic” uncertainties that UCSD does not.

thanks for the links! I’ll definitely try and raise my scores a lot or look into other schools where I have a better chance of getting in. :]
