^that's very good advice. I think I'll at least make one of my essays about why I would never be pre-med and be a part of the health industry in the United States.

to be honest, your essay wont make too much of an impact when applying to UCLA and UCB. but if you're applying to UCSD, and UCI, etc, make it creative. No sob stories!

why wont essay have as much of an impact UCLA and UCB?

they're heavy on numbers

They are... oh wow, that’s the best news I’ve herd all week cause my GPA is about 3.95 but my EC's and essay (probably will) suck.

lost in code said it. they stress GPA and prereq completion so much more than anything else. your essay is basically just a way to show that you can write 200 words that can make sense. your essay can help with cal or ucla maybe if you're totally borderline.

3.84 with TAP for UCLA BizEcon.

my chance?

btw, it's not ALL numbers.
TAP plays HUGE role for UCLA admission.

Someone with a 3.3 GPA can be admitted to UCLA bizecon if he's in TAP, whereas, someone with a 3.6 GPA with NO TAP can be rejected to the same major.

Yeah unless you are applying Haas Business School.
For Haas, 3.9 is the AVERAGE.

the biggest myth is: UCB doesnt care about the essay and only care about the numbers...(GPA and MAJOR PREP)

another huge myth is: UCB doesabout the overall picture, and do actually put stress on the personal statement..

i've heard both sides be argued at the extremes..i have no clue what to believe...so dont hold your breathe guys. i guess we'll never know.

actually the biggest myth is: UCB ONLY accepts GPA above 3.5 :P

is anyone keeping tabs on how many times dhl3 has asked what his chances are on CC? kidding... dude chill out...your fine.. you even posted about GPA's and stuff and your still trippin....just chilaxxxxxxx

Angljc1, a 3.9 for Soc is outstanding and you should be able to get in, but I wouldn't say its a guarantee as nothing is ever a guarantee.

Wish I had a 3.9!!!

but I bet you and everyone else has 10x the EC’s and a much better essay.

anyone started on the app yet?
