Someone mentioned doing this in another thread so I thought I would start it. Post your stats if you are applying to Haas for fall 2007.

Good luck to everyone! Here is to us being part of the 8%. :)

One of this year's 80? Last year, weren't there 90 transfers that were admitted? And also, I don't know if you guys have heard, but isn't Haas doing an expansion of their school? Here's the link for an article I found from Businessweek:

" There's good news and bad news for students applying to the undergraduate program at the Haas School of Business at the University of California, Berkeley. The good news is the school just completed a three-year expansion initiative. As a result, the student population has grown from 550 to 700. But the bad news is that everybody has to go to summer school."

From the article:
Q: How many transfer students do you accept?
A: Haas is very competitive. We only admit 350 students a year, the majority of which are Berkeley students. Specifically, 260 are Berkeley students and 90 are transfers. It's much more competitive for transfer students to apply.
"

Good thing I'm applying for ECONOMICS, not business ;)
anyway, if i get into UC Berkeley, then I'm sure I'll get into both UCLA and USC, and if that happens, I'm definitely NOT attending Berkeley (however if it was Business major, I would certainly choose Berkeley, but that's not the case for me).

Currently attending: De anza, Foothill, Ohlone, Chabot colleges. all ccc.
GPA:3.76 hee hee way low (goes up to 3.8 by application)
EC: well, definitely cant compete with sweetny's stats here, that's for sure. hahaha let's see

lol two, actually..me and my friends co-founded the clothing design company.

iono you just do it? but make sure you're ready for it. I wasnt. that's what happened my first venture. that's what i'm going to be stating in one of my essays-i lack the experience and knowledge...that's why i said it was a long story. in any case, its a bad idea without the experience to mitigate the lack of education, in my humble opinion.

speaking of which, does anyone know if high school ec's count for the haas application? i mean, just one or something to put on there..is it a good idea? or no.

Yah, I was thinking about opening some type of small business, but then I realized I really need to have garnered some kind of knowledge in that. I guess that's what business school is for. No, but in all honestly, what do you need to do? Come up with a good idea and savvy name, open a business checking account, and put a rent on an office?

ok apply then.
and you can feel all happy about being admitted while the less qualified ppl like me can sit in the corner crying after receiving a rejection letter from both of their top-choice colleges.

It's a dog eat dog world out there. If you're feeling like this already, then Berkeley definately isn't for you. You need to be prepared for harsh competition, and you need to know how to handle any and all impediments that might come through your path.
