I must thank my admission officer, kevin, for being so thoughtful. It was definitely a pleasant surprise to see the personalized card in the mail. :)

Am I the only one whose holiday card wasn’t personalized? Mine was handwritten but only had a generic “Welcome to the class of 2014!” message.

@apple: I got one from the assistant director (who wasn’t my counselor) and she said “Thanks for a wonderful application reading experience!” so I think it wasn’t personalized? It said nothing about my essays, but still made my day. :)

I really hope I also get one!

ugh, I wish I got a personal one now :(.

Still a very nice surprise

I just got mine!
It says “thanks for a wonderful reading experience, and have fun in France!”
Unfortunately I wrote my essays when I was going to go to France, but can’t anymore because of financial issues.
Calender is nice too.

Calendar came today!
I have never visited this campus but the chapel and the library look very nice.

Got the calendar today also.

Got a calendar from my regional rep, but no christmas card. :(

S got a card but no calender

Lol, I got the calendar but no Christmas card.

I just got my card today, and it mentions how excited the math faculty and the music department is to meet me. I don’t care if it’s exaggerated; this made my day.

Didn’t get either :(.

Perhaps it’ll come in a few days or something :).

What kind of things to people’s cards say?

I just got my card (I got the calendar a few days ago).

It says, “Congratulations! Wonderful essays and theater work.”

i got the card and calender!! I love them. My card says "we loved your essay on bicontinentalism (and the rest of your application, too!), but that part especially. We look forward to seeing you as part of the class of 2014). I really liked the calendar, it made everything so reaal!

I received a Christmas card but not a calendar. My admission’s representative spoke of how she shares a mutual interest in the magazines that I read.

My son’s had a comment about how they were glad he overcame his original negative impressions of Chicago. (Referring to his Why Chicago essay.) But what he really wanted to know was what they’d thought of his extended essay.

My card commented on how “unafraid and compelling” my depiction of my hometown was (Common App Essay). I really liked my supplementary essay a lot better, though.

Anyone else have something cryptic in theirs?

I got both. I found it very friendly, if I say so myself. The little things like this just make me want to commit…
