Less than 2000 admitted. Most selective class in UChicago history.
waitlisted
Son was waitlisted too
My son was rejected after being deferred. Congrats to all that were accepted.
S was deferred, then rejected.
Waitlisted. Son is fine with it.
Looks like this year UChicago admitted 500 less students. Website indicates last year UChicago admitted 2,460 students out of 37,977 applications = 6.5% admit rate.
A waitlist means they like you and would love to have you, but they probably have institutional needs to fill so have to see how the class shakes out to see if they can offer you a spot. U Chicago is a top 10 school, extremely difficult for admissions. It is really hard for admissions officers to choose between many, many equally qualified applicants for a single spot. I wish there were enough spots for all the kids they’d love to take!
Where did you see the admitted number?
My daughter’s friend was rejected.
Was anyone waitlisted who got deferred ea?
Where did they publish the 2000 number? Could you please share?
S was deferred for EA, then rejected
