Thanks.
Exactly same stat including even ecs. Just diff is since 8th gr worked part time, volunteered in hosp for all summer, started a non profit chap for seniors, Shadowing doc, 8 AP,/14 honors/6ECE with UCONN.
Seriously finding it extremely difficult to console her…

Was the application sent in before 12/1? There was some merit priority reason to get it in by that date, I wonder if honors selection is affected by that too? Your daughter certainly has the stats

Oh wow! I am heartbroken for your daughter. I did not read her stats above. Way above my daughter’s stats plus she submitted great scores. UMich!!! She should be extremely proud!!! 2023 admission cycle is definitely unpredictable.

I would appeal or call the AO. I’ve read on fb more than once that gpa was submitted wrong. I’ve also read about large increase in applications and spots being filled mid-way. Ask the AO if she can enroll now and waitlisted for Nursing. Keep following-up and in the meantime visit her 2nd choice. Good luck and keep us posted.

She got into psych…how do you appeal to AO? School gpa is sent via transcript… anyways. Thanks for your response and I wish your daughter all the best and congratulations again…

The ONLY way to appeal is in the portal. There’s a form you fill out. Appeals rarely get approved btw, but it doesn’t hurt to try

Sorry to hear but it makes us feel a bit better - same here D27 an EMT, works with special needs kids in theraputic horsemanship program,’ 3.9UW, 4.4W 1330 sat, captain of her sport etc…she has been working hands on saving people in emergency situations but not good enough for a nursing program? When looking at others stats thinking it is a mistake - if they take a holistic approach she is already working in the medical field - bye bye UConn

Daughter accepted to business at Storrs campus. OOS. No merit. I guess we can take them off the list

Why wouldn’t they just accept at Storrs campus then if they have room to house them? Seems odd…do these students live altogether on campus or just like any other Storrs student?

I have those same questions myself!

Like any other student… mixed with Storrs and Hartford/Avery point kids. No difference.

Does anyone have any insight on how Merit is decided? my son is in state was accepted to Storrs business. 4.0 gpa, 10 APs - rest all honors, 33 ACT but no merit so curious what the criteria was?

I have the same question…we live in Farmington Valley…so why would I pay for my kid to live at Storrs and take the same core classes as his dorm mates but he has to get on a bus everyday to take them in Hartford…yeah that makes a lot of sense. I feel like it’s a big bait and switch…feel bad for a lot of these hard working kids. We’ll be looking at his other acceptances.

In state rarely merit :woman_shrugging:

They only have to take 50% of CREDIT in Hartford. So theoretically could take 1/2 classes in Storrs and go to Hfd 2-3 times a week. Many kids do it & Storrs campus kids take classes in Hartford by choice too. It’s pretty easy and common actually. But I get it and agree: bait and switch & DEF not cool

Most state schools give most of the merit to OOS students to bribe them by getting costs down to their in state flagships. My daughters were offered $20,000+ at UCONN, $0 at Rutgers.

has rugters already sent merits? i thought it would be March… so does it mean that i got zero too

Lol this was a couple of years ago, my oldest is a Rutgers graduate who got $0 (but graduate summa cum laude), her sisters and brother were offered $0 as well. I do know students who got merit from Rutgers in state, but they were HS valedictorians and in the honors college. Good luck!

Son #2 headed to Purdue next year - 2 Boilermakers . In state- both accepted to UConn but UConn is really not such a great value.

So far no Merit given. It is still possible to receive merit scholarship after acceptance announcement?
