Save the $7k a semester by commuting to Hartford and transfer to Storrs
We live in Stamford although my daughter get into Storrs campus because she wants to be “out of the house “,
Stamford campus is just one building, parking lot, one small dorms and one new bigger dorms, a lot to do here, close to everywhere, 50 min by train to New York
Same here… in-state engineering, $7,500 merit and honors college
Does anyone know when they reply back for transfers? I sent an application for undergrad first year but they changed it to transfer and its been 3 months. I still haven’t heard back.
Getting down to wire and trying to decide between UConn and a smaller school…anyone have kids at UConn know about the social scene for kids who aren’t that into partying? Enough to do?
Question for any UConn experienced people on this thread… After move in, (lets say move in is the Friday before the first day of classes)… Do they encourage parents to be on their way and not hang around? My experience at another large university with my daughter was they wanted the parents to hit the road so the kids could go do new student activities etc. Just wondering if UConn is similar (trying to figure out how many nights to stay since we are 5 1/2 hours away). Thanks for any info!
It depends upon move in time your kid gets… if it’s late that first day you might want to stay over, if it’s first one (8:30-9) maybe not. We left pretty soon after move in but some parents stay a bit longer. Late move in time can be 3-4 pm and it takes a while to get keys, etc. it’s organized chaos
