University of Florida 2025 — Regular Decision

I think almost everyone applies to at least two instate schools, I made my D apply to three, just in case. Although she may go OOS. OSU is a fabulous school, with an incredible football team!

FWIW, my student’s high school doesn’t rank and consistently has 100 students (out of ~200) apply to UF. On average, 70% of them are accepted every year. I have tracked it for five years now.

I don't think class ranking matters nearly as much as GPA.

@Anisqoyo UF does charge the distance learning fee? Even for Pace classes during non-Covid? My S23 is at USF and we are getting killed with the distance learning fees, they are not covered by the FPP local fee plan, so the overage from FPP and BF is covering those costs instead of paying for the dorm and meal plan. The administration won’t even talk to us about it.

My son’s classes all charged the distance learning fee for on-line classes so I am assuming that others are also being charged. His BF scholly covered the additional charge but I was left in awe by the hutzpah of the system to upcharge for on-line classes. Personally, I don’t know why anyone would choose to be a business major at UF and do most of their learning on line. Looking back at my education, I couldn’t imagine missing the interaction and discussions in the classroom that were just as valuable, or even moreso, than the course material.

My son is likley going to OSU. We are from Miami. Also applied to OSU. Another FL Buckeye

@Anisqoyo good info. If she gets in on Friday, we will have to compare. She has a lot of good options, but they are not “free”. I do not recommend the business program at USF for other reasons. I think at this point FSU may be the best business program in the state.

If I did not choose a PACE major, would I just get rejected instead of being put in PACE possibly if I am not directly admitted?

Yes, if you did not choose a major available in PaCE or the other special major related programs then you would receive a rejection. To be clear not everyone who has applied to a PaCE major gets a PaCE offer - it also has a limit on enrollment.

Supposedly they accept 6500 students out of over 50000 applicants… is this true? That sounds absurd to me meaning that come out to a 13 percent acceptance rate… makes me 10 times more nervous

I believe 6500 is the number of the enrolled class, not the admitted students number.

@Matt1414 that 6500 number is the number of students that ultimately enroll. The number of students offered admittance was about 14000.
All of the numbers are available on UF Admissions website.

Also does UF have a waitlist or is it just acceptance or denial?

I understand. I did not choose a PACE major but maybe I will get acceptance!

Is sports management a pace major?

Yes it is. I was going to choose that and actually decided to choose another major (that is not a PACE major) at the last minute.

Regretting that now lol. But yes, as I said, Sports Management is a PACE major.

Ughhh u serious. I’ll be devastated if I’m accepted into Pace and not regular admission

So there’s no waitlist correct?
