Be aware that there are large classes at privates as well, particularly in Frosh/soph level classes. It’s not unusual for bio, Chem, etc, lectures to be held in large lecture halls.
@HorsesArePeople2 There are few other factors you need to consider. These may not look relevant until you are in college.
- Location. In the heart of the city and college town. Some people who are used to big city life may enjoy. But for some they will hate all the hustle and noise. for example UCLA, UPenn, Drexel,U of miami, are in the city. Schools like U of Michican, u of oklahoma, u of Iowa are in college town.
- Location. Weather. If you are born in houston and raised in India, are u prepared to try cold weather. U of Minnesota, Rochester, Buffalo, Alaska or prefer hot on the southern or western or in between cities etc
- School size. You have all sizes from baby, small, medium, large and monster size. Different students prefer different size for various reasons. For pre-med students they make sure the pre-med office can manage the number of premed students and can pay decent attention to guide.
Still 2 most important factors which you need to first include and they may narrow your search are
A. Do you think you will be eligible for Need-Based aid? (depending on your parents income and other savings etc)
B. If you are NOT eligible, how much you can afford (this will force to seek schools which give liberal Merit Aid)
Meantime, make sure to study focused and take various tests (SAT/ACT, AP, Subject SAT) and score well.
