University of Maryland-College Park, Do i have a chance of getting in?

I have been in doubt about if i get accepted into University of Maryland-College Park. I have a G.P.A of 3.53, with all honor courses throughout high school except freshmen year. My sat score is pretty low, i have a 1300 out of 2400 and i think that could be a problem. That is my current G.P.A and i am in 12th grade so i still have a year so it can go up. I am taking 3 A.P. classes currently. A.P Biology, A.P Calculus, A.P. English/Lit. I also have volunteered at the school library and have an interview to volunteer at my father's hospital and hopefully will benefit from the volunteering. I currently have over 100 hours of community service and should have almost 400-500 hours by the end of the school year. I am in the National Honor Society and i am vice president of the interact club. I also have participated in the chemathon, competition in University of Maryland where 6 chemistry students represent each school in a competition where we duke it out with chemistry activites. The six people represented in my school were the first to participate from our school. I consistenly made honor roll throughout high school. Hopefully this would be enough, i want to major in Pre-Med. Could you please reply so i can know if i have a chance or not to get into University of Maryland-College Park.

Just to let you know, in the future, post these types of threads in the "What Are My Chances?" forum.

You should try taking the ACT. You're obviously a smart guy, so you'll probably do better on that. Good luck.

Just curious: what high school do you go to? I did chemathon this past spring and I am a senior at Churchill.

Your SAT is much too low. I would recommend retaking it and taking the ACT. I know of a lot of people who did bad on the SAT, did decent on the ACT and got into UMD.

FYI, the UMD app just came up today.

Thanks for replying, i am taking the SAT again pretty soon before December 1st and the ACT also. Will a 26 be high enough, i know it will be much higher compared to my low SAT score but i would like to know. Could you please reply to that question. Thanks again for anyone who replied!!!
