University of Michigan Ross - Subject Tests

Hello, I had a quick question about sat subject tests at Umich Ross. I am planning on taking Math 2, but I don’t feel too confident in getting a competitive score on the test. Will this detract from my application? Is it better to not take it instead of taking it and doing well? I did fine on the actual sat math section, its just the time limit plus remembering stuff from precalc is causing me to score less on this specific test. Any advice is appreciated, and thanks!

Take the test and if you don’t like the score, then you’re not required to submit it.

you will need 2 subject tests for UM. If you did well on math section of real SAT then you don’t need the math SAT, but you will need 2 others. and they prob need to be 700+ scores, at a minimum.

SAT Subject tests are NOT required by UMich.

Do this to apply.

Not sure I would submit unless 770 or higher…have heard they will look at your math standardized scores and weigh them more than the other portions of SAT or ACT, i think is standard practice at most top 20 business undergrad schools. Ideally high standardized score and grades in AP/honors Calc etc.

If you did fine on regular SAT math, time better spent on the Ross portfolio…

In theory lots of schools look closely at Math and English scores… Ymmv
