Hi!
I’m going to be a freshman in college, however I plan to apply as a transfer to UMich for my sophomore year from my college in Ohio. I plan on applying to STAMPS as an Art and Design major. What I’m mainly worried about is my ACT score. I originally scored a 22, which is why I didn’t apply. However I googled transfer acceptance rates and I read that UMich’s acceptance rate goes up to 40% for transfers. I am retaking the ACT in 2 weeks, but on the practice tests I’m getting between 25-26, and I know UMich’s average is around a 31. I’m only retaking the ACT because UMich requires you to send in your ACT score no matter what year you transfer for. I know STAMP’s admission is also 50% based on your portfolio, but I was wondering how much my ACT score will matter in my application? And if it does a lot, would it be better for me to apply as a transfer for the Spring semester of my sophomore year rather than the Fall semester?
Avg GPA stamps 3.7. Avg Act is 29 for Stamps.
I would call /email a stamps advisor.
Hi,
I’m a transfer student and I was accepted to the College of LSA in UMich this fall as a Junior transfer. I don’t think Michigan requires you to submit an ACT score for transfer. I certainly didn’t send mine. However, it might be different for sophomore transfer. I suggest contacting them to clarify their requirements for sophomore transfers.
I think your need to call and clarify. I think once your junior status you don’t need to send in the scores but in sophomore status you do.
