im not sure, ive been to ann arbor a few times (cause my sister lives there) and its fun, but kinda boring. i also think that nyc will distract me from schoolwork. umich is more academically inclined of a school, and i think its a more practical school, but nyu seems like so much fun...

I was rejected at first. Then i filed an appeal I was admitted as a Transfer student on 18th April. I'm wondering would my GPA transfer to LSA?

Ahmednini Congrats on your acceptance. I'm suprized that the appeal worked. Most schools try not to be too willing to do an appeal.

Just curious, what'd you do? What'd you say to them and how did the appeal work?

Thanks

Thanks! I'm so happy :D
I'm a Texas Resident studying at MSU. I had applied to U-Mich after high school but i was waitlisted. Then i was offered and extended waiting list and finally rejected in late july. Then i applied as a transfer around 5th Feb with a GPA of 3.81 with 16 Credits in my first semester. I was rejected at the end of feb. Since I went to an international high school I had Advanced level credits which i had not taken at MSU. I got those credits approved they were transferred (Although I didn't transfer them because of umich). Then i was at College Confidential and came across some old applicant who was actually acecepted after an appeal so i wrote up an appeal in literally like 5 minutes and sent it without even proof reading or anything. I honestly had no hopes and i was looking forward to UT-Austins decision. 3 Weeks later I opened wolverine access and it said congratulations. :D:D
Yeah so can anyone answer my question since its finals week my GPA does not transfer right?

wow, this website is amazing... Im new to this, and Im trying to get used to it.

If you get rejected from UofM, does that mean you have to attend another University for 2 years before being eligible to transfer? Im planning to attend University of Michigan Dearborn, then to transfer to the Ann Arbor campus.

Did any engineers get accepted for sophomore standing? I'm trying to see if it's possible.

I was accepted as a sophomore engineer transfer applicant.

I'm interested in transferring.

What were your first year freshman math courses?

I took Diff. EQ. I will be taking Multi. Vars over the summer as my acceptance is contingent upon completion of these courses. You have to have Diff. EQ and Multi. to transfer as well as a C++ class.

I have to take Calculus I and Calculus II for my first two semesters. Did you test out of Calculus 1? Am I screwed? Where are you taking Multivariate Calculus? Could I possibly take both maths over the summer, or is that overkill?

I tested out of Calc I and II. I took Diff. EQ and because Multi isn't required at my school, I skipped that. You could take Diff. EQ and Multi at the same time. I'm taking summer courses at UMich if I decide to go. Their classes start in June or July.

How many are you planning to take?
Do you think I could get accepted with only Calc I and Calc II, but plan and make an agreement to take Multi Calc and Diff EQ during the summer?

I think that totally depends on your stats. I go to an engineering school right now and have a 3.96 after my first year. My other stats are pretty competitive as well. Are you instate? I believe transferring into the U of M as an instate isn't particularly difficult (many WCC students do it each year). By the way the transfer app./prereqs is written, they really don't seem open to sophomore transfers.

I might be taking Multi and programming this summer.

I'd say, if you aren't busy this summer, take Calc I at your local CC.

When you are transferring, in state or out of state does not matter. I know this is true for Engineering and LS&A, not sure about Ross. I know this because my roommate was trying to transfer for engineering, and I transferred in for LS&A. We both asked our respective counselors.

I guess there is no way I can transfer to Umich unless I take Diff and Multi over the summer. I refuse to do that. Michigan engineering is the only college I know of that requires this. I guess I won't be transferring.

bumppppppppp
