Hey everyone! I am having a pretty difficult time deciding between these two schools. I was admitted into the College of Engineering at Michigan and the Bouve College of Health Sciences with the honors program at Northeastern. I think if I were to go to Michigan, I would change my major to a more pre-med oriented track, while that is already set up at Northeastern. My main concern is finding the school that will set me up best for graduate school. I know both schools have their pros and cons. I am wondering what is more important in graduate school admissions, the co-op opportunities that I will have at NE or the highly regarded biology program at Michigan? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you!
While I cannot speak to what is more important in graduate school admissions, I can give you some more information about the Biology program at Michigan and other opportunities that are available for pre-med tracks. UofM has UROP (Undergraduate Research Opportunity Program) which is a research program for first and second year students. If accepted to UROP, students are able to do research while being supervised by a research sponsor. Michigan also has a Co-op program available to Engineering students: https://career.engin.umich.edu/career/co-ops/
