I am an art student looking to enroll in a collaborative dual-degree program and earn a BFA and a BA.
Thus far, I have been accepted to the University of Michigan School of Art & Design and the Washington University in St. Louis School of Art.
I am hoping for actual knowledge and information about these two schools and some way to compare them. I have been trying to research and find information to compare them, but my searches have been proven futile.
Can anyone please compare these two art programs?

WU’s MFA programs are rated slightly higher but neither all that high. Probably can look at other factors.

Both schools are ranked quite highly when it comes to their integration of dual-degree programs. I also applied to Carnegie Mellon where I am waiting to hear back, but these two schools are my main concern.
Does anyone have any information between the two schools and how they compare? I am looking for UNDERGRADUATE PROGRAMS.

When it comes to individual majors/programs the grad ranking for that area is the best substitute as you have the same faculty and facilities. The other thing to consider might be the overall undergrad ranking/reputation.

Two excellent choices. I’m not very familiar with Michigan’s art school, but I know WUSTL’s Sam Fox School has a very collaborative atmosphere (easy to double major, many links with the School of Architecture and the on-site art museum). The school is part of a brand-new arts complex designed by Pritzker Prize-winning architect Fumihiko Maki, and they have a great new dean, who previously chaired the Department of Art at Cornell.

Michigan has a great rep as well. I would recommend visiting both and choosing based on fit.

Finances? For art I would go to WUSTL

Finances? Do you mean ability to pay for tuition? That is not a factor.
I was also admitted to the Carnegie Mellon University School of Art, however, I am not in the collaborative program nor do I believe it is truly the right “fit” for me (I have already visited twice).
WashU does allow students to double major and receive dual degrees in let’s say BA and BFA. However, they do not permit those two degrees to be received in FOUR years. It is a five year program which is not viable.
Indeed, UMich offers a four-year dual degree program.
Receiving a great education from both the Language Arts component and the Fine Arts component in reasonable time is my main concern and trouble…
Any help?

^^^If you can finish either college in four years as opposed to five, then there is your answer. Go to Michigan.

I am now leaning towards Michigan for that very reason. However, I would still like some information or insight on the actual program and the respective professors.

UM’s program requires 150 credits which for most is 5 years. Standard 120 plus 30 for second degree. This is not magic. Many schools do that.

I have AP credit and pre-college credit that would help me graduate in four years. I don’t think another $50,000 is worth it for a minimal disparity in education with WashU.

However, I still do not know how the programs compare.

Have you asked this in the Visual Arts Forum? Look for it inside the College Majors Forum.

I created a new thread on that forum because there are no related threads… thanks for the help though.
