How hard is it to transfer from CLA to CBS at the University of Minnesota TC? What are requirements and how hard is it? Can you transfer after first semester freshman year or when can you do it?
Have a look at http://cbs.umn.edu/apply/transfer-students/transfer-within-u for exact requirements. You have to have 26 credits total and at least 3 hard sciences (Bio/Calc/Chem/Phys) courses. AP credits won’t count for these hard science coursework (though they will count towards degree).
As for difficulty- the sooner you apply, the more weight will be put on your high school grades, so you’d want to knock the grades in college courses out of the park, if you apply after only one semester at the U.
If you want to try for this, I recommend looking at some summer classes as a community college. Be sure to check equivalency tables to ensure your work will meet the U’s expectation. From your other posts, it looks like you’re a strong student, so I believe this is doable.
As for acceptance rates- CBS is discerning, but if you show that you can confidently handle college level science coursework, transfers are fairly common.
