I am applying to UMKC's 6 year accelerated BA/MD program. I was wondering if any one could proofread my essay and provide insight.
Prompt: What has motivated you to study medicine and to seek admission to this program of medical education?

6 year BA/MD at University of Missouri? Am I the only one who is skeptical about the quality of physicians that this program is creating? We're talking taking 2 years off of a life and death profession. Brown nor Northwestern's accelerated programs are completed in 6 years and those kids are far more capable than your average UMKC student.

I admit that I partly agree with the comment about UMKC's med student not being as sufficient as the other accelerated programs. I am applying to Northwestern's program as well and will be using this essay on the common app. However, I am still interested in UMKC because students are exposed to clinical settings and hospital life from year 1. Plus the school is year round, so the amount of work balances out in comparison to the other programs and your classes are all focused on medicine.
