<p>I know many state universities have their own preferences towards in-state applicants. However, why does North Carolina have a LAW that says "82% or more of the incoming freshman class must be made of North Carolinians?" That's stupid in my opinion.</p>
<p>I am interested in UNC as well, but I get it. With great academics and in incredible value, even for out of state students, restricting OOS student numbers gives state residents more of a chance. </p>
