**University of Pennsylvania Fall 2017 Transfer Thread**

Decisions guys? When are they coming out?

Good luck @missevelyng You have an impressive profile. I think you have a solid chance! I would definitely do a dual degree in political science and wharton economics if I got accepted to penn.

ah I might be wrong about that then. Sorry for the upset!

@missevelyng Do they require both stats classes? My school one has one stats class and its “Stats for Economics and Business”

@VaishS Yea if I get in I was planning on taking the one semester, cell bio focused track for the general biology requirement (Bio 121 I think?).

Have you seen the LSM program? I just found out about after applying, and I’m pretty disappointed it’s not open to transfers haha. Attempting an uncoordinated dual degree seems a lot more difficult, especially as a transfer. I was thinking about it but I havent taken any business courses, so theres no way Id be able to finish the prereqs in time.

@missevelyng what did you get on your SAT/ACT?

if decisions come out tomorrow at 5 PM EST and I am in California will I be able to view them at 5 PM EST (which is 2 PM my time) or will i have to wait until 5 PM my time?

You’ll be able to see them at 2pm your time, that’s why they specify that it’s 5pm EST. 24 hours people!

@Neurophile hahaha I was actually an LSM deferred applicant last year (later rejected).

@Whitefang1313 thank you!!

@dkpark9095 When applying, I think it only matters the college to which you are applying rather than the major you select because the common app phrases it as being an alternate major of interest rather than a declaration. I meant to say ‘or’ instead of ‘and’. I noted econ as my primary major of interest though.

Unrelated question: Does anyone know if UPenn has a transfer waitlist?

@VaishS best of luck, hopefully the decision is in your favor this year. Then you can start preparing to apply to wharton for a dual degree (the grind never stops haha).

@kc15780 I tend to doubt theres a transfer waitlist.

how many kids do they usually take

@student23456543 i think like around 8-9%

@student2345 about 200 kids across the 4 schools.

Someone asked if anyone is pre-med. I’m not but I’m pre-vet :slight_smile:

@schlagzeugerin I’m the one who asked haha, what are you planning on majoring in?

@Neurophile Planning on majoring in English! I didn’t use AP credit either, but I’m really glad I didn’t. I definitely feel that I’m getting more out of the material the second time through, even though it can be a little redundant at times. That being said, we’ve definitely covered material this year that I didn’t learn in high school, especially in biology!

Okay I am peeing my pants now. Rising junior, this is my first and last shot, unless I take a gap year, which I am not.
