I just wrote them to update them with my summer plan. Just got a summer job offer and research award. Do you guys think this is too late?
with the results literally coming out tomorrow, I’d wager it’d be a bit too late for them to factor in your input.
I sent an update on Saturday about an organization I started with my friend. Don’t think they will probably see it, but I thought I’d submit it cuz it wouldn’t hurt to do it
I got an additional letter of support from KWH; however, it was sent out on April 22nd. Do you guys think that it would’ve been read?
Edit: @studboy97 I think everything is pretty much set at this point.
@IvyLeague2 I applied to Wharton! Major in accounting, 3.95 GPA. I work with my community college’s transfer center to write up requirements for transferring to Ivy Leagues in order to help other students transfer. Also a member of my school’s Accounting Club and Phi Theta Kappa.
Is anyone else here premed?
@Neurophile here!
@he1234 Sorry for being so terrible at prompt responses, but I’m actually applying to CAS for Econ and CS. However, I am taking Macro over the summer along with Calc 3 from my local community college because of the GBs that might not transfer. Hope that helps!
@Neurophile meeeeee
Lol im debating just not opening my decision. I cant
@VaishS I’m not opening mine immediately, I have an awards dinner at 5:30 so i don’t want to be upset!!
@ kc15780 I’m pretty sure you can’t apply for a double major as an external transfer.
unless you’re in the business school
@dkpark9095 where did you see that? I know you can’t apply for a coordinated dual degree program as a transfer, but I didn’t see anything prohibiting a double major for transfers. In addition, from what I have seen there is no rule explicitly prohibiting transfers from doing an UNcoordinated dual degree, but I imagine it would be essentially impossible to do so and graduate on time as a transfer.
You can double major and dual degree as a transfer. You can’t do a coordinated dual degree program
@sc4 @VaishS What are you guys planning on majoring in if you get in? I’m a biochem major currently, but I think I’d switch to biology with a neuro concentration if I got in.
Also, did you guys take ochem as freshmen? I ended up taking general chemistry despite having credit from AP as my school’s chem department strongly recommends/borderline demands all chem majors take it here. Though it is the honors section of the course, it’s essentially a repeat of AP chemistry, and I’m worried penn will think I’m slacking and not taking ochem just to get an easy A.
I also didn’t take any bio courses this year, as I had AP credit for the first year sequence, but now I’m kinda screwed if I do get in, as Penn doesn’t accept AP bio anymore.
@Neurophile Im actuallt kinda undecided on the major. I think I would do econ and bio double major. Or try a dual degree with Wharton (very hard). Im very interested in business.
And yes!! I took gen chem over the sumer (our school recommends it too for premeds). Then took physics, bio, and ochem during the year!!
But I wouldn’t stress too much, penn wont think youre slacking bc you didn’t take ochem lollllll, some people dont take it until junior year. And, gen bio isnt too hard you could take it your sophomore year or like at Penn over the summer.
I think you would still be on track, you would just need to take 5-6 classes a semster instead of like the recommended 4. Not undoable at all.
