@heyigotnoclue I guess then you will have to learn to accept a rejection! Most of the applicants that applied to Penn as transfer got denied, with I believe around 5% acceptance rate (correct me if I am wrong). Definitely retake the SAT, especially with your 1300 SAT. Aim for at least 1450 to be competitive in the application process (would be difficult and requires lots of studying, but definitely doable). If you don’t mind, can you tell us why Penn is your dream school?
Once we’ve submitted our transcript, how does Penn let us students know whether or not they’ve received it?
@heyigotnoclue I got accepted this year as a transfer into Wharton and I’d be happy to answer any questions you have
@ADKUWBDud Wharton’s amazing program, location, area, connection, alumni network, and more
@bzheng5587 I will message you
My kid got into Wharton transfer from one of three top state schools. Did not re-take any of the tests from last year application. Was rejected RD from CAS a year before. Stats were good for any College (Wait-listed at Harvard). I think it is all luck after objective and not so objective data have been met. No one can predict the outcome. Your stats have to be above: 3.7 GPA, ACT 33+, etc., so not to get into the trash bin at the first round of review - and that is all one can hope for.
I think the essay was better this time around, more mature; how both of them (Wharton and my kid) can benefit from each-other
My recommendation: Do not go to your College with a goal to transfer. Go there to stay and enjoy your experience. With that said, there are certain Wharton requirements for 1st year transfer that you can look up on their site.
@CupCakeMuffins A lot of transfers have that issue, but Penn honestly does an amazing job with their transfers. There are many transfer-specific programs and events throughout the year.
Current Santa Monica Community College Student looking into my options.
Would Penn be possible to transfer as a junior transfer with a 3.6-3.7 GPA? Scholars student also working part time.
not impressive high school transcripts but should have 60 units by the end of this fall from SMC.
