Does Penn send out Likely Letters or any form of early indication of admission?
@AMCFito I believe only for nursing school applicants.
Hi guys, I’ve been kind of confused for a while now about my interview and I thought that perhaps you guys could shed some light on that. During my interview, I was mentioning to my alumni interviewer that I thought writing was my weakness, therefore I was scared about my essays not being good enough. And, he said to me that the admissions board told him that they loved my essays in his notes. However, according to their alumni interview website and my friend (whose dad is a UPenn alumni interviewer), they aren’t supposed to get any information other than my name, email, and location. So I’m really confused… idk if he was just trying to make me feel better and that’s why he said that but I’m more nervous now than I ever was. What do you guys think?
Honestly no one knows so don’t worry!!
Penn interviewers do not see your application. That is absolutely bizarre that he would say such a thing.
I never got contacted for an interview… Should I be concerned? They stated they will contact me in their email back in January but I never received anything.
no dont be worried! it just means that there are no available interviewers in your area.
Hey guys I have a question. A while back I was contacted by an alumni interviewer and they had wanted to meet soon. I contacted them right away and we were on the verge of making plans until he stopped contacting me. The last thing he said was a day of the week and I responded to know when and where… I left it alone as the day of the week he mentioned passed by and emailed him a couple of days later and he never replied. Do you think he would tell UPENN that I wasn’t interested at all? This is making me really nervous… :-??
that happened to my daughter and she just kept emailing him until he replied…he was just very busy and ultimately very apologetic. It’s kind of late now but I suppose you could contact admissions and let them know you never connected with your interviewer but you tried multiple times and that it was ok but you didn’t want them to think you blew the interviewer off…
Does anyone know what time the Ivy League decisions will be released?
5 pm 3/30
Hey so I got a letter from financial aid saying they need a document from me. Do they just send that to anyone missing a needed document?
@jhosk10 i just got one too! i submitted mine in like an hour ago, but forgot the Tax ID form, hopefully they dont get mad! I hope its an indication I’m in, but who knows!
@machiavelli1738 well that’s what popped in my head because why would they do financial aid for everyone when they only will accept like 7% but I’m also not gunna get my hopes up.
@jhosk10 @machiavelli1738 I wouldn’t get your hopes up too much. Plenty of people on other threads (UCLA for example) had received emails regarding scholarships and such, but then got rejected a week later
Financial aid updates and notifications usually have nothing to do with admissions. In many universities, the financial aid and admissions processes are simultaneous. I think universities do this to avoid having a backlog when decisions are out.
I personally think this is a good sign. I think that if a person is rejected, then the FA office will know that, so that they don’t work on the file of a student who has not been admitted. In my opinion, you’re either in, or the office hasn’t made a decision yet.
@machiavelli1738, @jhosk10 Congrats! I think. Where FA from the school has called the parents, an admit has followed… My Dad is travelling so I don’t know for today
Penn just sent me a personal email to get a form I’m missing for financial aid, “To finish the financial aid process”. Is this a sign I got in?
What documents did you guys need?
