I may have a Science exam on the day my interview is scheduled. Since I have only 2 days to respond to an interview meeting a month away, how should I politely tell them if it’s possible to pre-pone it? Also, is it “not good” to ask them for a telephonic interview?
Have any internationals gotten interview offers yet? If so, would you mind saying which country?
@ghvan99 I did. I am from Mumbai, India
Got my invitation earlier today. Also Mumbai, India
@samc24 Which major?
@vtanboy29 SEAS - Comp Sci
you?
Just had my interview today. She was so nice and helpful! But I read on UPenn’s website about sending them a thank you note…does that mean by email?
Yeah, I had my interview today too! My interviewer was so nice!!!
@kk1235 Yeah, you should probably send them a thank you email.
@samc24 SAME! Are you going to give the interview?
@vtanboy29 awesome haha
Yeah for sure! During boards, but can’t pass up an opportunity!
@samc24 Exactly! Its in the middle of Boards so I was thinking of doing a Skype interview instead. Will that hurt my application?
@vtanboy29 I don’t think it would hurt your app, but I prefer actually going for it for a more personal touch.
The interview doesn’t hold that much value in apps anyway, from what I have seen.
Plus, mine is on a Saturday so it’s aight even though it’s far away.
Mine is on Feb 11 too xD
@samc24
I haven’t been contacted for an interview till now. Can somebody help me? I read on Penn’s website that an applicant can’t request for an interview. What shall I do now guys?
@Freshuate I think waiting would probably be best. I just had my interview today and the dude told me this year they’re really late for some reason! Also, don’t fret if you don’t get one; I was fretting a lot before I got one but when I got there, he told me that there are very few interviewers per state (I think in mine there were like less than five is what he said), so it’s really just chance.
Anyway, I have an inquiry also. So when i submitted my app, i reported that i was an intern at a materials science lab. recently, i actually switched to a biology lab because that’s more of the stuff that i’m interested in. I told my interviewer that i do bio interning now, which is true, but penn doesn’t know about the change. would it be too sketchy if there was that materials vs. bio discrepancy? and if so, wat’s the best way to update them?
@collegemomjam saw the familiar name here, thought I come and say hi, my daughter was accepted by UVA EA, so I move on to other schools she applied. Had interview last Sunday, she thought it went well. But her stat probably not high enough to get in
Hi @willbetternextd yes we have a few more months until this is all behind us! Penn is a tough one. My D was going to go ED but then decided not to. Now we wait!
yes we wait, 8 more schools to be exact, but over half of them probably will be rejected. But we still need to wait… good luck to all of us.
We only have 3 left…she withdrew one app and already told a few schools she won’t go that accepted her since she has received some other acceptances. Trying to ease up the competition for her peers at her HS. Good luck to all of us is right…these last few will be the really tough ones!! Just not enough spots for the many, many talented applicants.
she ED one Ivy (of course got rejected), EA 2 state universities (both accepted). Maybe we should withdraw some schools that she probably won’t go if accepted, such as W&M and Northeastern, right?
