University of Portland? How easy is it to get in to?

I just applied for UP through the priority admission (no app fee, no formal essay) and they just required a personal statement or previously written work. I wrote the personal statement but to be honest kind of rushed through it.. The absolute deadline for priority was today, and I wrote it within an hour. (Shortened version: I was diagnosed with scoliosis when i was 12, it got worse, people started commenting and i got embarrassed about it. then learned to live with it and am looking toward a career in o&p to create scoliosis braces, but also provide answers and support to patients as i wish i would've gotten).

I was wondering if anyone knew how selective UP is? And how important the personal statement is for them? It could have definitely been better, wasnt very descriptive and pretty plain (or maybe i'm just really critical). it's not horrible, but i'd personally rate it 6.5/10? at max 7/10.

Other than that I hope i'd be a good applicant - high GPA, took all my school's honor classes, 2020 sat (1280 math/reading), job experiences, church activities. I'm just worried about my personal statement and that they'll find it really bland, and it'll tip my application over in the negative way.

Thanks for anyone's help! I'd really appreciate it.

Test scores and gpa are marked very important. Essay is marked important. But there are other factors see Freshman admission section of CDS

Acceptance rate is 64 pct. You are in the top 75 percentile of accepted students, I’d say you are in.

I was accepted to UP for Fall, 2015. I would say you have a good chance of being accepted. Your SAT scores are higher than mine and you have a good story behind you. I wouldn’t worry too much about it, I think the rest of your application will speak for itself. :)

I got in to UP with a 76k scholarship and my SAT’s aren’t nearly as good as yours
