So based on course rigor and extra curricular strength, how do I look?

I am a junior in Rhode Island as well. Especially as an in-state applicant, URI is not particularly choosy… Your GPA could be bolstered a bit to increase your chances but I would say that it is incredibly likely that they accept you. I’m sure that you could get into many other good schools as well, considering your strong ECs. Good luck on your SATs.

I’d say you have a great change of getting into URI. It’s not that selective (especially for in-state) and you have a great strength of schedule and good extracurriculars

@ts1234 Hey we’re probably neighbors. It will depend on your major. For example, Pharmacy would be tricky with your GPA. Admissions will be very stats driven, unfortunately. You need to apply as early as possible for the best chance and do really well on your SATs. November 15th would not be too early to apply. Choose2Matter is a great program/topic for your essay.

@gearmom Hello there! Thank you for the input! It is greatly appreciated. As for the majors, it will most likely be something in the humanities, possibly English or a Language.

Thanks!

@ts1234 If you go for humanities, consider the Honors program. The classes are small and at the sophomore level you can great housing. Also look at the National Student Exchange as a way to inexpensively mix it up for you. I think it’s the same price to study at colleges in the US and Canada as your home college. Of course regular study abroad also.
