University Of Rhode Island

Can I get in?
I had a 2.6 throughout my high school year, A's, B's and C's.

I am currently a senior with a 3.3 for the first trimester.

I take 2 AP courses, Environmental Science and AP-Art History.

(A-) in environmental and (B) in AP-Art History (unweighted).

I wrote a very creative nature story from a life experience as my essay for the application, (I showed my english teacher and she said she would have given it an A+ as an essay).

I have had 4 years of track and field,

I helped with save the bay for community service.

In a supplement essay I wrote about me being a waiter as a job that i started two years ago. And having a job at a beach for three years, aand combining the two, i wrote about how i bought my own car (Mazda 3 08).

Both my parents and brother went there, my aunt went there and then taught there for 9 or 10 years, my other aunt went there for a year then transfered to NYU, and I definitely want to go.

What are my chances of getting into University Of Rhode Island?
Thanks

I’m pretty sure you should get in… average academics stepping it up senior year, involved with extra curricular… plus you’re a legacy you should def. get in. Are you out of state or In state

hey thank you! and yea I am in state,

I just took another look at my application and neglected to include that I completed 5 courses at (RISD) Road Island School of Design, and earned a certificate in photography: Computer Animation (Grade: P), Digital Drawing Board (Grade: A), Introduction to Digital Photography (Grade: B-), Eye Popping Photography (Grade: A) and Advanced Digital Photography (Grade: B+).

I received a first place-2-dimensional award in Spring 2010: The Greening of Rhode Island Competition/Exhibition for Independent Schools

but the thing is i had a language waiver and didn’t take a language.

Definitely as an in stater. Total no brainer. However I don’t think they value legacies as much as private schools do. You’ll be fine regardless of that.

I’m not sure, because i was deferred from early action, and placed into the regular pool of applications for regular admission.
